Maefan R Yoakum, 91, formerly of Liberty, MO passed away February 25, 2017 at her home in Bethany, MO. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. service on Thursday, March 2, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside service will be at Richmond Memory Gardens. Maefan was born Sept 21, 1925, the second daughter of Eugene and Eva Warren, which preceded her in death. As a young girl she resided in the town of Independence, MO, where she was born and raised. Maefan also attended Independence public schools and eventually received her high school diploma. In 1948 Maefan became re-acquainted with the love of her life Roy C Yoakum, but she would have to wait until he returned from serving in the Korean War overseas to be married on November 23, 1950. Maefan worked at and retired from Townley. Maefan and Roy resided in their home in Liberty, MO for 47 years and in 2006 sold their home and moved to a home built for them in Bethany, MO, by their family. Before Maefan became ill she loved to fish, go shopping and spend time with her family. Maefan R. Yoakum was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend that will be forever missed until we meet again in Heaven. Maefan had her husband Roy of 59 years and her daughter Georgianna Lorene Guerber waiting to meet her in Heaven when she arrived, she is survived by her son, Roy A. Yoakum and wife Shannon of Bethany, MO; four grandchildren, Bill Guerber and wife Kelly, Theresa Morris, Tyrone Guerber, Richard Yoakum and wife Jessica; seven great grandchildren, Ashley Akins, Amber Clark, Brittnie Guerber-Brown, Lacey Guerber, Luke and Isaiah Yoakum and Aaliyah Guerber; and nine great-great grandchildren, Makayla, Noah, Addyson, Nalaya, Cody, Giovonni, Emma , Tralynn and Jaxson; and a host of many other family and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.
