She grew up in Northeast Kansas City, attended Gladstone Elementary for grade school, and graduated from Northeast High School. She met her husband, Pat, in elementary school and they eventually married on February 4, 1967. They were very happily married for nearly 49 years. Jeanne found her greatest fulfillment in the happiness of those around her. She committed her life to loving, supporting and being there for absolutely everyone she knew. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother and wonderful friend. While never having a career of her own, characteristically she played an extremely active role in support of her husband’s career. She was his loyal co-pilot, confidant, counselor and constantly proclaimed better half. She focused most her time on being the best mother she could be to her sons and a second mother to any and all who needed her. The impact that her unconditional love and encouragement had on her sons cannot be measured. She was everywhere and everything in their lives. Jeanne also had a distinctive connection with her sons’ friends and her nieces and nephews. She always made each of them feel welcome, loved and special. She had an extraordinary love for her grandchildren and lit up anytime she saw or spoke of them. She truly treasured everything about each of them and played a significant role in their lives. Jeanne was blessed with more friends than one can imagine. She made lifelong friends in every phase of her life and deeply cherished the bonds she shared with each of them. She touched so many throughout her life and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty Rooney. Jeanne is survived by her spouse of 48 years, Pat; two sons, Sean (Rayeann) of Lee’s Summit, Chad of Blue Springs, 2 grandchildren, Payton and Patrick, beloved twin sister Joanne Green, and 2 brothers Joe Rooney and Mike Rooney.
