Dorothy Dean Young (Withrow)

Dorothy Dean Young, 81 of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at her residence. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 901 East 23rd St S, Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m., until service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Donations may be made in her name to the Fellowship Baptist Church. Dorothy was born December 4, 1935 in New London, MO to Elmer and Alice Withrow and graduated from public schools there and later from cosmetology school. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who also was a beautician as well. She enjoyed poetry, sewing, bowling and cooking. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. She is survived by; her husband of 63 years, Everett of the home; a son, Larry Young and wife Benita of Napoleon, MO, their children, Wes an Sara Young and their grandchildren, Travis and Mackenzie Young, Cole and Cody Homfeld; a son, Russell Young and wife Donna of Independence, MO and their children, Paul Loyd and Shannon Burris, their 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Couch of Oak Grove, MO and a brother, Kenny Withrow of St. Louis, MO.Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.speakschapel.com (Arrangements: Carson-Speaks Chapel (816) 252-7900)
