Howard Porter Young Jr.

Howard Porter Young, Jr., 93 of Buckner, MO passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at his residence. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the Speaks Buckner Chapel 300 Adams St., Buckner, MO 64016. Private burial will be held in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence. Howard was born January 30, 1929 in Warford, WV to Howard P. Young, Sr. and Mollie (Caperton) Young and spent his early life in West Virginia before moving to Buckner in the early 1960’s. He formerly owned and operated Howards Beanery in Buckner from 1967-69. He later worked as a night stockman for a grocery store. Howard loved to garden and would share his crop unselfishly with his Buckner community. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Buckner. He is survived by; 5 children, Sandra Marie Esry, Charles Melvin Young, Pamela Gale Smith, Lori Kay Davis and husband Mike and Patricia Jean Baldus and husband Buddy and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other extended family.
