Michael Young

Mike Young, 31, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, February 28th 2013. A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7th 2013 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; 1501 W. Lexington Ave, Independence MO. A Celebration of Life service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 8th 2013 at the chapel. Burial will be at Lobb Cemetery.
Mike was born June 15th 1981, in Independence, to John Michael and Anita Lynn (Turner) Young. He attended William Chrisman High School and worked for many years in carpentry doing tile work for the Local Carpenters Union. Mike was a funny and fun loving family man who enjoyed outdoors sportsmanship. He had many friends who were as close to family as they come. Described as honest, loving, and giving, Mike is loved and will be missed.
He is survived by son, Darrian Young; father, John M. Young; mother, Anita Young; sister, Alysa Young all of Independence, MO; sisters, Maria Young of Kansas City, KS; and Nikki Schaefer of Blue Springs, MO; grandmother, Mina Oehrke of Independence, MO; and numerous aunts, uncle, cousins, and beloved nephew and nieces. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his friends for their love and support at this difficult time.
