A man and his family….John E. Yuhas, 90, of Sugar Creek, MO died June 20, 2014 at his home surrounded by his wife and children. As a young man, he had a passion for baseball and a budding career as a pitcher until he joined the Army in WWII as a medic corpsman. He and Anna M. (Bertalotto) Yuhas, his wife of 57 years, grew their family to eight children: Johanna, Julia, John, Mike, Bernadette, Joseph, Josephine and Janice. They also have 18 grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church, Sugar Creek, MO. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St Cyril's Catholic Church Renovation Fund. We are very blessed for the life he led and the examples that he set. A longtime family friend said it best, “When I think about raising my family, I think about the way John and Anna raised their children. They were role models and didn't even know it.” Online condolences may be expressed at www.speakschapel.com (Arrangements: Carson-Speaks Chapel 816-252-7900)
