Edith Joann Zeller was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1933 and attended Northeast High School. She married Almus Zeller in 1950 and had two children, Stephen and Sharon Zeller. Her husband, Almus, died in 1984. She was active in Life Connections Church (formerly Birchwood Baptist Church) where she loved to volunteer supplying and serving food for Forest Avenue Homeless Shelter. She became certified as a CNA and worked at the Groves prior to retiring. She spent her last years at Seasons Memory Care. Edith loved to cook for family making homemade fruitcake and divinity candy for Christmas. She was also an expert pie and noodle maker. She also enjoyed painting, going to church, and visiting with family. Edith insisted on applying her own makeup and getting her hair done weekly, well into her 80’s.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Juanita Negus; her husband, Almus Zeller; and her brother, Raymond Negus.
Edith is survived by her brother, Jerry Negus (Rebecca Hierholzer); son, Stephen Zeller (Kathy Zeller); daughter, Sharon Zeller; grandchildren, Stephanie Zeller, Patrick Zeller (Morgan Zeller), Caroline Zeller, Gabriella Zeller, Jania Amador, Alheim Amador (Lacey Amador), Yulma Amador; and great grandchildren Asteria Zeller and Frida Amador.
