Joe Zeller

Joe Zeller, 90, Independence, MO passed away Nov. 4 2016. Committal services with Military Honors will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, Nov. 10 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Bethel Baptist Church, 2406 MO Hwy. 291, Independence, MO 64057 or the Missouri Veterans Assistance League, 20109 Business Hwy. 13, Higginsville, MO 64037. Joe was born Oct. 25, 1926 in New Franklin, MO and graduated from New Franklin High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for over forty years with J.A. Tobin Construction Company and a member of Operating Engineers Local #101 for over sixty-five years. He was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering in his shop, restoring vehicles and building projects. Joe was preceded in death by his sisters Fay Jacobs and Jeanie Speck. He is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years Margaret Jo Zeller, of the home; son Rod Zeller and wife Joan, Lexington, MO; grandson Robby Zeller, Independence, MO
