Donald O. “Don” Zink, 79, Independence, MO passed away at home Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017. Services will be 10 am, Thursday, Nov. 16 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052; interment at Six Mile Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at the chapel. Don was born Feb. 25, 1938 to parents Arthur and Frances (Linsenbardt) Zink in Russellville, MO. His family moved to Lee’s Summit, MO and he graduated from Lee’s Summit High School. He worked at Sears until he went into the U.S. Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, AK. Following his discharge, he returned to work for Sears for thirty-three years. He loved to hunt, fish and go to the casino but most of all he loved to garden.
Don was preceded in death by his brothers Raymond, Marvin and Clifford Zink. He is survived by his wife of fifty years Carolyn Zink; daughter Donna Greenlee and husband Clay; brothers Earl Zink and Art Zink and wife Joann and Don’s canine buddy Lucky.
