Alice A. Zumwalt, 84 of Independence, MO passed away, Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, MO. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2007 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the chapel. Alice was born July 1, 1923 in Independence, MO to Walter and Hazel (Tignor) Curtis and was raised by her stepmother Pearl Curtis. She had worked for over 38 years for Lake City Ammunition Plant until she retired in 1988. She enjoyed sewing. She was a member of the RLDS church, the Women’s Civic Club, V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary and did volunteer work for the Salvation Army. She is survived by; a son, Melvin Davis and his wife Brigitta of Camdenton, MO; a sister, Gladys Green of Independence, MO; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Campbell in 2001 and a daughter, Pat Schulte in 2002.
